Hello Roper Families,
My name is Gabriella Sorantino and I am overjoyed to introduce myself as the full day Pre-K teacher at William Roper School. This is my third year here at the William Roper School. Here is some information about my background so you can get to know a little more about me before the school year begins.
I was born and raised in Millville, New Jersey home of the famous Angel’s baseball player Mike Trout. I was the last class to graduate from Sacred Heart High School, in Vineland. I attended Chestnut Hill College in Pennsylvania where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I fell in love with the area and decided to stay after graduation. I have worked in many different teaching positions in Pennsylvania. I worked in a Preschool classroom, third grade classroom and even a middle school classroom. I am currently working towards my Masters degree in Special Education.
While I loved living in Pennsylvania, I wanted to expand my certification and teaching experience. So I decided to acquire my New Jersey teaching certification and move to Glassboro. I am very grateful that I get to come and join your community at William Roper School.
My biggest passions when it comes to teaching are art integration and creating a classroom where all my students feel cared for and welcomed. I feel that providing art integration into different subjects gives the students hands on learning while allowing them to make personal connections. My students are always held to high expectations and I expect the best from all of my students. By saying that, I realize that all students learn differently and it is my job as their teacher to meet them where they are and differentiate each lesson to help them succeed.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading and playing with my four-year-old dog Mia. I also enjoy spending the holidays at my parent’s house in Cape Coral, Florida.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at sorantino.g@woodstown.org. I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your wonderful early childhood learning center here at William Roper!
Sincerely,
Ms. Sorantino
