    Why English? Why a Teacher?

I love writing. I love to edit. I love books and the places they can take you. I love that musty book smell that only an old library can have. I love the thrill of becoming totally encapsulated by a story, by a character, by an author, by imagination.  I love the puzzle grammar presents and the intricacies of our English language.  Most of all, I love teenagers and the energy they bring to life and to the classroom.  They are the future--the very near future.  I want to pass all of these loves onto my students and in turn, onto the future.
