    • How Does A Plant Grow From A Seed?

This is a time-lapse video of a pea/root growing underground and is amazing to see!

We are continuing with our non-fictional text unit and moving away from careers and into spring themes such as how plants and flowers grow. This unit coincides with our author Lois Ehlert and her book "Planting a Rainbow" as well.

After watching this video we will discuss what we saw and plant our own seeds to see what will happen next!

    • All About Dr. Seuss

This is a great website for home and school. We utilized this website in school as an additional way of introducing our first author (in our Author Study Unit). This website offers great pictures, stories, interactive games, and even printables for home!

    • Groundhog's Day, What Is That?

We utilized this website to watch a live stream to see if the Groundhog saw his shadow! Even though groundhog's day has passed, you can still go on this site to learn about our friend and watch videos from previous years.

Prior to this lesson, we predicted if the groundhog would or would not see his shadow. We graphed our predictions to incorporate mathematics into this lesson!
