"Every child deserves a champion-an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the bestthat they possibly can be."-Rita PiersonHello, my name is Joan Hobbs. I am a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDT-C), also known as a Learning Consultant. I serve as a Learning Consultant for all students in the Woodstown-Pilesgrove School District. Currently, I am a case manager for students in prekindergarten through first grade as well as students attending various out-of-district sites. As a LDT-C, I am a member of the Child Study Team who provides data to contribute to the identification of students who may be eligible for Special Education and Related Services and to assist in the delivery of appropriate and effective educational services and programs. I guide instructional staff in an understanding of the needs of students with disabilities and recommend and demonstrate techniques, strategies, and materials. I also serve as a member of the Intervention and Referral Services Committee for Mary Shoemaker School and the Preschool Intervention and Referral Team for the William Roper School.I am honored to work in this district and proud to serve the Woodstown-Pilesgrove community.
