Course Overview
Goal:
- Upon completion of this course, the individual should be able to recognize an emergency situation and know how to respond to that emergency. This course will prepare the individual to make appropriate decisions regarding first aid and be able to act on those decisions. This course also emphasizes the importance of a safe and healthy lifestyle.
Objectives:
- To apply first-aid procedures to minimize injury for bleeding, wounds, burns, fractures, shock, poisoning, head trauma, cold and heat injuries and how to respond to medical emergencies to save lives.
- To provide an opportunity for the student to learn human biology, providing information on how blood circulates through the body, what bone structures people have and how cardiovascular system works.
