4th Grade New Jersey Rap Projects - 2018
Each spring, in coordination with the 4th Grade Social Studies curriculum, our 4th Grade teams work cooperatively during music lessons to compose a rap or song about the state of New Jersey. Students collaborate first in small groups and then as a class to write lyrics and a rhythm for their rap. They then choose drum, bass, and other instrument loops to accompany their lyrics. We digitally record their composition using the GarageBand computer app and may also add vocal effects such as reverb or echo. Finally, each class chooses background colors/styles for a slideshow video of the lyrics. Click on the video link below to listen to a playlist with each team's finished project and to view a slide show of the lyrics.
