(Shoemaker Academic Program Enrichment)

    (For Students in Grades 1 - 5)

ShAPE  students do a variety of fun activities that develop the students' higher-level thinking skills and at the same time improve and enhance the atmosphere and learning experience for others at Mary S. Shoemaker.  ShAPE students have a say in choosing their projects and areas of study. Examples of past projects include: Talent Show (5th grade), Elections, the Environment, Creating Games, CSI, and Creating a Spirit Shirt.

Participation in ShAPE is based on identification as Gifted and Talented in the areas of General Intellect, Specific Intellect, Leadership or Creativity.
ShAPE classes meet from 7:30 - 8:10 AM weekly (except during state testing).  On half days, classes meet from 7:30 - 7:50 AM.
