The Woodstown High School Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) aims to create a space that is welcoming to LGBTQ+ youth in the school setting. We want to create change in the community, open the dialogue about LGBTQ+ rights in schools, and make our presence visible.
Why We Are Important
Queer and trans youth are one of the most at risk populations for suicide, poverty, homelessness, anxiety, and depression often stemming from a lack of support in their families and communities. Many of these youth also feel a decline in mental health due to current events and attacks on LGBTQ+ rights. Our club supports these youth and provides a way for them to take action. Our GSA in particular aims to make our members feel welcomed, proud of who they are, and in control of some of their circumstances.
