    Hello MSS All-Star Families:

    Your children are the "Pot o' gold"  at the end of the rainbow and we so lucky to have them in our lives! Happy St. Patrick's Day! 

    What a joy to see so many smiling faces this Grandparents' Day! MSS welcomed over 400 grandparents to our school.  Thank you to our PTO for all their efforts and for the refreshment donations and time working the Book Fair. We had record sales for our PTO this year!

    Thanks to all who attended our conferences this past week to hear about your child's progress and growth. If at anytime you have questions about your child's work, please be sure to let the teacher know.

    **MSS Clubs Agenda**

    • Monday: Select Chorus
    • Tuesday: Fun with Food, Nature Club grades 3/4/5, Running Club grades 4/5, and STEM Club 3/4/5
    • Wednesday: Makerspace Club, Nature Club grades 1/2, and Percussion
    • Thursday: Drama Club, Fun with Food, Nature Club grades 3/4/5, Running Club grades 4/5, and STEM Club grades 3/4/5

    **March Spirit Collection and Spirit Day**

    We are collecting can tabs this month. Our Spirit Day is March 29th! Please have students wear their orange and blue! The Reading Challenge ends on Spirit Day.

    ***PTO Informati0n***

    • Our next PTO meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20th at 7:00pm at Mary S. Shoemaker School. 
    • Crouch and Co. will donate $10 to our PTO when new customers present the code "W-P PTO WOLVERINE". For more information, please call 856-769-1040.

    **Quad District Art Exhibit & Band Concert**

    On Wednesday, March 27th our district will hold an Art Exhibit and Band Concert with students from Alloway, Oldmans, and Upper Pittsgrove Twp. schools. The events begin at 6pm in the Woodstown High School. The Band concert begins at 7pm in the WHS Auditorium. All are welcome to attend!

    **MSS STARS: Chick-fil-A fundraiser**

    A fundraiser flyer was sent home last week for ordering chicken nuggets tray. For $35, families can order a Nugget Tray which includes 64 nuggets and 1 sauce choice. Additional sauces can be purchased. The pick-up day is Thursday, March 28th from 3:15-5pm. If you need another flyer sent home, please call the MSS office.

    **SAVE the date: March to Wellness Night**

    • Date and Time: Thursday, March 28th from 6-8 pm
    • Place: Mary Shoemaker School
    • Details: We "mashed" our Curriculum and Wellness Night with our P.E. Night to produce a March to Wellness Night! Please save the date! 

    **MAPSA Egg Hunt**

    Please join us at the annual MAPSA Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 6th. The event kicks off with breakfast provided by NutriServe starting at 8:30am in the WHS Cafeteria. The egg hunt will be on the Clint Ware Football field starting promptly at 9:30am. Bring your own bag or basket for collecting eggs.

    **MSS Talent Show**

    The Talent Show sign-up sheet and flyer was sent home last week. If your student is excited to show off their special talent, please return the form as soon as possible. Talent Show auditions will be held on April 10th and April 11th. If you need another form sent home, please contact the MSS office.

     

    **Morning Math Fact Practice and Morning Readers**

    We have Morning Readers and Morning Math for math fact practice! If you are interested in having your child join Mrs. Champigny and Mrs. Sherburne in Library just tell him/her to report to the library between 7:30am and 7:50am each day. 

    **Lost and Found***

    Our Lost and Found Box is overflowing! We will display our belongings at our upcoming March to Wellness Night. Please take a peek if you can for a lost hat, coat, gloves, etc. Unclaimed items will be donated.

     

    ~Local Happenings~

    **The Healthy Kids Running Series is a five week running program in the spring and fall for kids from Pre-K to 8th grade. Each Race Series takes place once a week and offers age appropriate running events including the 50 yard dash, 75 yard dash, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the one mile run. Kids compete each week of the Series for a chance to earn points and at the end of the Series the top boy and girl with the most points in their respective age division receive a trophy. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you run because all participants receive a medal for their achievements courtesy of our sponsors!

    The $35 registration fee covers the entire 5 week series and is non-refundable.

    Family Success Centers are community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering places where community residents go for family support, interactive workshops, activities and groups.  A variety of family friendly events take place each month. ALL FREE AND FUN!
